ESCWA is collaborating with the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace to organize a regional workshop aimed at advancing just and inclusive energy transitions across the Middle East and North Africa region.

As the region faces challenges related to climate vulnerability and resource scarcity, this workshop provides a platform for dialogue and action on sustainable, community-driven solutions. It brings together policymakers, local authorities, civil society and international partners to explore governance models that prioritize equity, resilience and resource efficiency. The workshop also promotes comprehensive approaches to climate adaptation and renewable energy adoption, with a focus on integrated business models and institutional innovation. Participants engage in knowledge-sharing sessions on governance frameworks, financing mechanisms and technologies that support sustainable development. By fostering multi-sectoral cooperation, the workshop empowers communities to pursue a sustainable and just energy transition.

The workshop is funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).
