As the region continues to face challenges related to climate vulnerability and resource scarcity, there is a growing need for dialogue and action on sustainable, community-driven solutions. In this context, ESCWA, in collaboration with the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, organized on 12 July a regional workshop to advance just and inclusive energy transitions across the region.
Funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), the workshop brought together policymakers, local authorities, civil society actors, and international partners to explore governance models that prioritize equity, resilience, and resource efficiency.
Discussions promoted comprehensive approaches to climate adaptation and the adoption of renewable energy, with a focus on integrated business models and institutional innovation. Participants engaged in knowledge-sharing sessions on governance frameworks, financing mechanisms, and technologies that support sustainable development.
