On International Translation Day, ESCWA is participating in the round table “Saint Jérôme à l'épreuve de l'intelligence artificielle,” organized by its partner university, Université Saint Joseph de Beyrouth. ESCWA Conference Management Section (CMS) is contributing a presentation titled “Translators: Another Test to Pass,” to shed light on the rapidly changing landscape of language services, highlighting both the pressures and possibilities that new technologies present. This engagement opens up vital conversations about adapting skills and embracing innovation without losing sight of core professional values.
CMS is also arranging an informal gathering for ESCWA translators and language staff to mark the occasion internally. The gathering further emphasizes CMS dedication to building a strong, interconnected team. By providing space for open dialogue, knowledge sharing, and mutual recognition, the occasion is meant to inspire a renewed sense of purpose and camaraderie among all participants.
