To periodically monitor progress in digital development and support the formulation of evidence-based strategies and timely action plans that contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and the goals of the Arab Digital Agenda 2023-2033, ESCWA and the League of Arab States are organizing a series of workshops to build capacities on conducting the third round of national digital development reviews and data and information collection for 2025.
ESCWA has developed essential resources for assessing and advancing digital progress in the Arab region. These tools are central to the preparation of national and regional digital development reports and play a key role in evaluating progress toward the Arab Digital Agenda’s objectives. ESCWA and the League of Arab States routinely update these materials to ensure accurate and consistent measurement of digital development in alignment with the Arab Digital Agenda 2023-2033.
The tools include:
- The Guiding Manual (with a standard template)
- The digital development measurement and monitoring model
- The Arab Digital Agenda 2023-2033 along with the National Digital Development Agendas
- National and regional digital development reports
Recognizing these objectives, the workshop series emphasizes the strong connection between national digital development reviews, the Arab Digital Development Report, and the Arab Digital Agenda 2023-2033. The approach is anchored in ESCWA digital development framework, which is organized around ESCWA five clusters and designed to align with emerging trends in digital cooperation and progress at regional and global levels. This integrated framework strengthens the capacity to assess and advance digital development across the Arab region, fostering greater empowerment and inclusion for all.
