This foundational capacity-building workshop is part of the Capacity Building Program on the National Digital Development Reviews in the Arab region. It introduces the project for producing national digital development reviews for 2025 and outlines the methodology and supporting manual.
The workshop features a strategic presentation that demonstrates how the National Digital Development Reviews are interconnected with broader initiatives such as the Arab Digital Development Report, national digital agendas, and the Arab Digital Agenda 2023-2033. It further explains the process for gathering data and information in alignment with the ESCWA Digital Development Framework, provides details regarding the timelines, highlights major upcoming milestones, and introduces the revised guiding manual along with the standard template, which serve as key resources for preparing the 2025 national reports.
The workshop addresses the following five clusters of the aforementioned framework:
- Cluster 1: National, regional, and international strategic frameworks
- Cluster 2: Infrastructure, governance, and legal environment policy areas
- Cluster 3: Digital economy, employment, and trade policy areas
- Cluster 4: Digital transformation and social inclusion policy areas
- Cluster 5: Culture and media policy areas
The workshop is intended for national focal points, coordinators, and experts nominated to prepare the National Digital Development Reviews Reports, including those involved in the various domains outlined within the guide manual.
