ESCWA, in collaboration with the United Nations regional commissions, is organizing a high-level side-event during the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development, entitled “Mobilizing Finance for Sustainable Development: Prospects and Challenges of Innovative Financing Instruments”.
The event brings together policymakers and practitioners from multiple regions to exchange experiences, discuss challenges, and explore opportunities in mobilizing finance for sustainable development through innovative instruments. The discussions focus on national sustainable financing frameworks; Green, Social, Sustainability, and Sustainability-linked (GSSS) bond issuances and post-issuance; scaling up climate/SDGs debt swaps; and country platform approaches to improve access to innovative finance.
Insights from this side event aim to set the stage for meaningful discussions at the upcoming Annual Meeting of the Arab Debt Management Group, a regional platform for debt managers in the Arab region to explore strategies for debt optimization, address pressing challenges in debt management, and exchange experiences and best practices on sovereign debt management.
