To support Arab States in their voluntary national review (VNR) preparations, ESCWA, the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) and the League of Arab States (LAS) organized the 11th workshop on VNRs, from 15 to 17 October.
The workshop provided an opportunity to present key findings from the recently published Arab Sustainable Development Report (ASDR 2024), and reflected on the VNRs implications and the broader follow up and review of the 2030 Agenda. It also included briefings on relevant outcomes of the Summit of the Future.
The workshop focused on Sustainable Development Goal 16 (peace, justice and strong institutions), emphasizing its centrality to development in the region.
