Advancing coherent climate and food systems action in Yemen

In a step towards building more integrated, inclusive, and climate-resilient food systems in Yemen, ESCWA, the National Convenor for Food Systems Transformation in Yemen, and the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD), organized on 13 July a capacity building workshop titled “Advancing Coherent Climate and Food Systems Action in Yemen”, in collaboration with the Food Systems Coordination Hub.

The workshop was held under the ESCWA project of Bridging the Climate-Food Nexus: Coherent Climate Action and Food System Transformation for Resilient Arab Least Developed Countries (LDCs), which aims to support Arab LDCs in aligning food systems transformation processes with national climate action plans.

The workshop brought together government officials from food systems, climate, environment, agriculture and water sectors, alongside development partners and technical experts, to strengthen national capacities, foster cross-sectoral coordination, and support the country in advancing coherent climate and food systems action throughout the project’s implementation period.
