Amid escalating environmental challenges in the Arab region, and in support of the transition towards a circular economy as a key strategy to strengthen environmental and economic resilience, ESCWA organized a regional meeting in Cairo on 26 and 27 August, entitled: “Integrated and Sustainable Transformations: Applications through the Circular Economy and E-Commerce.”
The meeting was held in partnership with the Technical Secretariat of the Council of Arab Ministers Responsible for the Environment, the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development, the Multinational Companies Business Group, and the Circular Packaging Association. It aimed to enhance resource efficiency and resilience in the Arab region through sustainable approaches, including circular economy practices and agricultural e-commerce
The meeting also served as a platform for exchanging experiences on practical approaches that foster sustainable production and consumption. Discussions focused on the role of e-commerce in transforming food systems and enhancing regional cooperation on circular economic initiatives.
