On World Statistics Day 2025, celebrated every five years on 20 October, and under the theme “Driving Change with Quality Statistics and Data for Everyone”, ESCWA participated in a 24-hour global webinar organized in collaboration with the five UN Regional Commissions. The event moved across different time zones to showcase how statistics drive development around the world.
ESCWA led the Arab region’s segment from the UN House in Beirut, bringing together representatives from national statistical offices, experts, and regional partners. The sessions focused on the importance of official statistics and innovative data in supporting evidence-based policymaking and advancing sustainable development.
The event also featured inspiring national experiences from Arab countries, highlighting how innovation and data are shaping evidence-based policies and building a more inclusive and sustainable future across the region.
