On the sidelines of the Second World Summit for Social Development, held in Doha from 4 to 6 November, ESCWA co-organized several events addressing key priority themes, including ageing futures, the future of work and care, and housing as a human right.
These events featured a session exploring the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on social development and others highlighting the transformative role of quality of life in advancing people-centred and inclusive development. ESCWA also joined other UN regional commissions in organizing a session on supporting the implementation of the Summit’s outcomes at the regional level.
During the Summit, the “SDG Stories” team at ESCWA launched Volume V of the ESCWA Stories comic book, and co-organized a youth session, which aimed at empowering young people to express their ideas and present their vision for a more inclusive and sustainable Arab future.
