On 25 and 26 November, the ESCWA Committee on Transport and Logistics held its twenty-sixth session to review the activities of the ESCWA Secretariat, as well as developments in transport and logistics among member States since the previous session in Amman.
The session, held in Damascus, addressed emerging topics in the sector, including the role of digitalization in promoting sustainable transport, climate change and sustainable mobility, and ways to improve the collection of road traffic data across the region.
In recognition of World Sustainable Transport Day on 26 November, the Committee held a roundtable discussion focused on the implementation plan for the United Nations Decade of Sustainable Transport 2026–2035.
