On 21 April, ESCWA organized a workshop on mechanisms to categorize disability in Egypt, as part of the technical support provided by the Commission to the Ministry of Social Solidarity.
Participants discussed the challenges they face in this regard, and were presented with models and mechanisms to classify disability types and levels following standards used in the Arab region and globally. They also identified ways to provide services according to specific needs.
The workshop was attended by representatives from the National Council for Persons with Disabilities and the Egyptian Ministry of Health, along with experts in various types of disability and university professors.
