In response to member States' recommendations and in line with the rapid advancement of digital government services and the adoption of emerging technologies, ESCWA organized a virtual meeting on 8 July for national coordinators on the Government Electronic and Mobile Services Maturity Index (GEMS).
The meeting provided coordinators with an overview of the latest updates to the Index and a refresher on the key platform features that will be used for data collection in this year’s cycle.
The Index assesses the maturity of digital government services and identifies areas for improvement. It aims to support policymakers across the Arab region in formulating and updating national strategies to accelerate digital transformation, improve the delivery and uptake of e-government services, and enhance their overall efficiency.
