As part of its commitment to positioning disability inclusion at the core of national development priorities, the Ministry of Social Development in the Sultanate of Oman, supported by ESCWA, organized a national capacity-building workshop for members of the Committee on International Reports and Information Gathering.
The training, held on 28 and 29 October, enhanced participants’ knowledge and skills on implementing, monitoring, and reporting under the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), aligning national efforts with global standards.
Participants from relevant ministries, national institutions, and civil society were more deeply conscious of their roles and responsibilities in advancing the rights of persons with disabilities and ensuring the effective engagement of the Sultanate in the CRPD reporting process.
