To address challenges related to SDG policies and their implementation, including fragility across political, social and economic dimensions, structural barriers in the economy and governance, ESCWA and the American University in Cairo organized on 24 and 25 February an expert group meeting on “Public Policymaking and Evaluation for Sustainable Development”.
Participants identified gaps in SDG policy evaluation capacities highlighting the need for targeted training and development programmes.
They also discussed emerging SDG policy trends in the region, the role of different actors in fostering a culture of evaluation, and the essential skills and tools required for effective public policy evaluation.
