This meeting aims to form a group of experts that can act as a core network of regional expertise and advise on issues related to SDG policies and challenges in achieving the SDGs, including fragility across political, social and economic dimensions, barriers related to the structure of the economy and governance, conflicts and economic shocks.
The specific objectives of the meeting include:
- Identifying gaps in SDG policy assessment and/or evaluation capacities that can be addressed by potential training and development programmes up to 2030.
- Mapping the roles of key actors in driving transformation and innovation within the realm of public policy for SDGs in the Arab region.
