Policymakers today face complex and unpredictable crises, particularly in contexts affected by occupation and compounded by violence, climate shocks, and development challenges.
ESCWA, in collaboration with Palestinian planning officials, organized a second training workshop on risk-informed policymaking from 6 to 8 January in Amman, targeting a new group of Palestinian civil servants, building on an earlier workshop implemented in February 2024.
The workshop aimed to strengthen participants’ capacity in designing future-oriented, adaptable policies, enhance their understanding of complex and evolving challenges, identify drivers of vulnerability, and promote long-term, cross-sectoral, prevention-based approaches to mitigate shocks and advance development despite severe constraints.
