To nurture citizens shaping a brighter future in the Arab region, ESCWA, in cooperation with the Lebanese National Commission for UNESCO (LNCU), organized an awareness-raising event on 7 October in Amioun, Lebanon, as part of the ESCWA “SDG Stories” project.
The event introduced the project and its impact on society and educational institutions and featured the screening of a short film highlighting relevant sustainable initiatives and practices. Participants also engaged in an open discussion on the challenges and opportunities related to applying sustainable development concepts.
The event concluded with the distribution of “The ESCWA Stories” in its four editions. The illustrated book, published annually, highlights the situation in the Arab region and contributes to the achievement of the SDGs by presenting sustainable solutions to multiple challenges.
