To address governance challenges and opportunities on land in the Arab region, ESCWA, UN-Habitat and other partners co-organized the Third Arab Land Conference from 18 to 20 February.
Held in Rabat, Morocco, under the theme “Land solutions for investments, resilience and innovation”, the conference focused on promoting sustainable land management, improving access to land rights, and strengthening cooperation between Governments, civil society, the private sector, and international organizations.
Expanding on its efforts to promote resilience, ESCWA also participated in the Sixth Arab Regional Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction. The meeting, held in Kuwait on 25 February, was an avenue for discussing strategies to address the region’s evolving risk landscape.
