With nearly 30% of the Arab population still offline and many others unable to fully benefit from digital opportunities, closing the digital inclusion gap is more urgent than ever.
On 24 August, ESCWA convened a consultative meeting on the draft national digital inclusion policy template for the Arab region, bringing together policymakers, public officials, digital transformation specialists, and experts from international organizations, academia and technical communities.
The meeting showcased the draft template, which ESCWA is developing under the Arab Digital Inclusion Platform (ADIP), and allowed regional stakeholders to share feedback, insights and recommendations that would help refine it to better respond to the needs of Arab countries.
