The Egyptian Cabinet Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC), in collaboration with the National Council for Persons with Disabilities and with the technical support of ESCWA, organized a workshop in Cairo to discuss the observations and recommendations of ESCWA on the National Disability Strategy (2026–2030).
The workshop, held on 28 and 29 December, aimed to support efforts to update the strategy in line with the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the Sustainable Development Goals. It brought together representatives of relevant ministries, national partners, government entities, and national stakeholders, to advance a participatory approach for disability inclusion in Egypt.
The workshop focused on strengthening the analytical and institutional foundations needed for updating the strategy, including assessing progress to date, aligning with international practices, and enhancing inter-ministerial coordination.
