As part of its efforts to support member States in strengthening their statistical capacities and enhancing methodologies for the compilation of national accounts, ESCWA organized a national capacity-building workshop on the Model Report on Expenditure Statistics (MORES) in Tunisia.
The workshop, held on 28-29 July, aimed to strengthen the technical capacity of the National Institute of Statistics in compiling expenditure-side national accounts data. It included practical sessions on data sourcing, classification, and validation, with particular emphasis on improving methodologies during times of crisis.
Participants were also introduced to various validation techniques and tools, including a hands-on demonstration of the MORES template and its associated classifications. The workshop concluded with discussions on challenges and lessons learned, with the aim of enabling participants to apply improved techniques in compiling national accounts in Tunisia.
