The tutorial on “Building capacity for project preparation” has been developed to support practitioners in translating project ideas into fundable and impactful initiatives. It provides a practical, step-by-step guide to the preparation of project concept notes and proposals for accessing green and climate finance. Structured into four modules, the tutorial addresses problem identification and contextual analysis; goal setting and impact articulation; budgeting and work planning; and risk management, monitoring and evaluation. It emphasizes evidence-based approaches, stakeholder engagement, and the application of key tools such as SMART objectives, theories of change, and logical frameworks.
