Gender Justice & Equality before the law: Analysis of Progress and Challenges in the Arab States Region
The Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN WOMEN), has launched the study on Gender Justice and the Law in the Arab States Region.
This study provides a base line assessment of laws and policies affecting the realization of gender equality and the protection of women from violence in the region. The 18 country reports highlight successful legal provisions and identify gaps that countries need to address to meet their international obligations and commitments.
