The role of civil society in implementing the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development

This paper aims at highlighting the role of civil society in implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at the national and regional levels. It includes six sections and discusses success stories on the role of civils society in supporting the development sectors in Arab Countries. It focuses on the following topics: the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development within the Sustainable Human Development paradigm; understanding the 2030 Agenda critically; the concept of partnership and the role of civil society; examples and success stories illustrating the various roles of civil society; and, the role of civil society in the implementation and follow-up of the 2030 Agenda.
