The 2024 Buraidah Voluntary Local Review (VLR) highlights the city’s commitment to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in alignment with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. Led by the Qassim Urban Observatory in collaboration with academia, civil society, and the private sector, the review adopts a data-driven and participatory approach to localizing the SDGs. The methodology applies standardized scoring and projections to assess performance across priority goals, including poverty eradication, health, education, gender equality, water and sanitation, sustainable cities, and partnerships. Notable achievements include the eradication of extreme poverty, expanded access to social protection, and significant progress in sustainable urban infrastructure and services. The review highlights the role of inclusive governance and evidence-based policymaking in guiding development, positioning Buraidah as a regional model for SDG localization and a contributor to both national development priorities and the global 2030 Agenda.
