Definition:

Water in which the salinity is appreciable but not to a constant high level. It is usually characterized by regular daily and seasonal fluctuations in salinity due to freshwater and full strength marine water influxes.; Water with a salinity between seawater and freshwater, usually showing wide salinity fluctuations.
