Definition:

Seed that can be certified as meeting certain national standards as regards its physical and genetic purity.; Seed of a prescribed standard of quality, produced under a controlled multiplication scheme, either from basic seed or from a previous generation of certified seed.; The progeny of basic seed, produced under contract with selected seed growers under the supervision of a seed enterprise (public or private).
