Refers to ambulatory contacts with a dentist divided by the population. Contacts in out-patient wards should be included. The number of contacts includes: visits/ consultations of dentists at the dentist’s office dentist’s visits made to a person in institutional settings such as liaison visits or discharge planning visits, made in a hospital or nursing home with the intent of planning for the future delivery of service at home.
