Spawning stock biomass per recruit
Definition:

The expected lifetime contribution to the spawning stock biomass for the average recruit to the fishery. For a given exploitation pattern, rate of growth, maturity schedule and natural mortality, an equilibrium value of SSB/R can be calculated for any level of F. SSB/R decreases monotonically with increasing fishing mortality F.
