Definition:

A smaller part of an overall trip/journey. A trip can consist of a number of stages. A new stage is defined when there is a change in the mode of transport or when there is a change of vehicle requiring a separate ticket. A stage is a movement making use of one single transport mode, including any waiting time directly before or during the movement. A stage is defined by one single mode of transport.
