Term:
Tourism-specific products (related to visitor consumption)
Definition:

Tourism-specific products (related to visitor consumption) are the sum of the following two categories:
- tourism characteristic products, and
- tourism-connected products.
The Tourism Satellite Accounts contains a list of tourism-specific products primarily derived from the Central Product Classification, Version 1.0, and expanded, where required, for the analysis of tourism. Other classifications have also been considered, such as the Classification of Individual Consumption by Purpose (COICOP), the Statistical Classification of Products by Activity (CPA) of the European Union, the classification proposed by OECD for the analysis of tourism and also some lists established by national entities for the same purpose. The list is provided in Annex 1 of Tourism Satellite Account: Recommended Methodological Framework
