Definition:
The usual environment required to distinguish a visitor from all other travelers within a location is difficult to define in precise terms. Generally speaking, it corresponds to the geographical boundaries within which an individual displaces himself/herself within his/her regular routine of life. As stated in the Recommendations on Tourism Statistics, the usual environment of a person consists of the direct vicinity of his/her home and place of work or study and other places frequently visited.
