(water rate, irrigation rate) A charge levied on the beneficiaries for supplying irrigation water. It may be based on or cover one or more of the following: (i) O&M expenses; (ii) depreciation charges for the whole or part of the project and O&M expenses; (iii) other criteria which may cover, exceed or not cover the working expenses and interest on investment.
