Background
Improved transport and logistics lead to increased competitiveness and regional and international integration. The Arab region is set to benefit from enhanced connectivity from more efficient transport and logistics, which in turn will help reduce the cost of trade.
ESCWA focuses on promoting simplified and standardized transport and logistics policies, laws and regulations, and on building capacity in member States to that end. It is also helping to develop regional transport infrastructure and transit corridors, and assisting countries to join and implement international transport agreements.
