The Gender Justice and Law Initiative is a partnership of UN agencies, namely ESCWA, the United Nations Development Programme, the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women, the United Nations Population Fund, and national stakeholders in Arab countries. It aims to align national laws with international standards and promote women's rights by conducting thorough country assessments and encouraging legal reforms.
Demonstrating ongoing commitment, United Nations partners annually update the Gender Justice and Law portal and each country’s dedicated matrix, showcasing legislative advancements and recalibrating indicators in line with national achievements. The outcomes of this annual update are unveiled during this virtual event that provides a platform to spotlight progress and foster further dialogue.
