This workshop is being organized in support of national efforts to develop more inclusive and equitable policies aimed at reducing multidimensional inequalities and enhancing coordination among relevant stakeholders to achieve the SDGs and ensure that no one is left behind.
The workshop aims to:
- Enhance participants’ understanding of how to design inclusive, evidence-based development policies that respond to national needs and incorporate the principles of equality and social justice.
- Facilitate consultations and knowledge exchange among policymakers and national experts on effective policy solutions to address inequality, with the aim of benefiting from global and regional experiences and adapting them to the Moroccan context.
- Review and discuss the dimensions and aspects of inequality in the Moroccan context to highlight key priorities in tackling inequality and reach consensus on the sector(s) that should be prioritized for policy intervention.
The workshop brings together policymakers, officials and national experts involved in the formulation and implementation of national plans, policies and programmes. These participants are members of the recently established National Working Group on Equality, which aims to support the integration of multidimensional equality principles into public policy.
