In cooperation with the League of Arab States, and in partnership with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of Egypt, ESCWA is organizing the Arab Region’s Expert Meeting and Open Consultations on the Global Dialogue on AI Governance.
The event provides an opportunity for experts and other stakeholders from across the Arab region to help shape the Global Dialogue on AI Governance. It also supports a coordinated, comprehensive and practical Arab contribution to the preparatory process, ensuring that the region’s priorities, development needs and practical expertise are reflected in the ongoing global discussions.
The consultations focus on four areas: the substance, format and design, outputs, and success metrics of the Global Dialogue. They also aim to strengthen multi-stakeholder, multi-level cooperation on AI governance priorities in the Arab region, linking them to the global consultation track and aligning them with the Global Digital Compact and the post-WSIS+20 phase.
