The Twelfth Meeting of the Intersessional Working Group of Experts on Disability brings together national disability focal points from Arab countries to strengthen regional cooperation and exchange experiences and good practices on the economic empowerment of persons with disabilities.
Discussions focus on aligning the skills of persons with disabilities with labour market requirements and promoting policies that support inclusive employment and economic participation. Member countries representatives also share national experiences in applying ESCWA tools to develop economic empowerment strategies and mainstream disability inclusion in government institutions.
Building on ongoing regional efforts, including the Arab Roadmap for the Economic Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (2027–2045), the meeting provides an opportunity to identify common priorities and discuss the Group’s workplan for 2027–2028. These exchanges support national and regional efforts to advance the rights and economic inclusion of persons with disabilities.
