ESCWA and UN-Women are jointly organizing a webinar to examine the effects of demographic changes on older women and gender equality within the Arab region. This discussion is aimed at United Nations personnel and addresses care models as well as measures to protect against elder abuse. It highlights regional experiences, challenges, policy gaps, and practical solutions.
The meeting also addresses the underrepresentation of older women in data collection, policy-making, and public discourse, despite their significant contributions to families, communities, and economies.
