ESCWA is organizing this workshop in collaboration with the United Nations Trust Fund for Human Security, the League of Arab States and the Government of Sudan, represented by the Sustainable Development and Poverty Reduction Unit of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning. The aim is to strengthen national capacities to put the Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus into practice in Sudan. The workshop promotes an integrated approach that meets immediate humanitarian needs, builds resilience and supports sustainable peace and development.
Through interactive discussions and practical exercises, participants examine interconnected risks and vulnerabilities and explore coordination among humanitarian, development and peace actors. The workshop addresses institutional arrangements, integrated planning, data needs, and monitoring and evaluation. These activities aim to identify shared priorities and collective outcomes and inform a preliminary implementation roadmap.
