ESCWA, in partnership with the World Meteorological Organization, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority, and the Barcelona Dust Regional Center, is convening a regional training workshop to advance technical capacities in the field of sand and dust storm observation and forecasting, as part of a regional series of capacity-building workshops.
The training provides hands-on experience with web-based platforms for dust monitoring and prediction and updates participants on the use of regional climate models to assess sand and dust storm drivers and impacts. It also focuses on tailoring early warning advisory systems to user needs.
