ESCWA, in close cooperation with the Arab Institute for Training and Research in Statistics and the League of Arab States, is organizing a regional workshop on gender statistics. The workshop aims to enhance the capacity of national statistical offices to collect and disseminate accurate and comparable gender statistics, thus contributing to the formulation of gender-related policies and programs, in accordance with the recommendations and needs of statistical offices. It emphasizes the importance of developing guidelines and methods for producing consistent and comparable sex-disaggregated data.
