As part of ongoing technical cooperation activities and in response to the request submitted by the Ministry of Planning in Iraq, the Gender Justice, Population, and Inclusive Development Cluster at ESCWA is organizing a national workshop on the strategic framework for mainstreaming social justice principles in the health sector, in collaboration and coordination with the Iraqi Ministry of Planning.
The workshop aims to discuss the legislative and policy framework supporting social justice in the health sector, showcase successful international experiences, analyse existing challenges and gaps, and propose practical solutions to overcome them. Participants review a proposed conceptual framework for mainstreaming social justice principles in the health sector, with the aim of refining it, identifying responsible entities for implementation, proposing suitable interventions and activities, and determining mechanisms for implementation, follow-up, and evaluation to ensure its effective application and measure the achievement of desired goals.
