Given the importance of voluntary national reviews (VNRs) in assessing countries’ progress at the national level, ESCWA, the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN-DESA) and the League of Arab States (LAS) organized from 3 to 5 March the 12th workshop on voluntary national reviews (VNRs), as part of a series of regional workshops on VNRs aimed at supporting Arab countries in preparing their reviews.
As the second workshop in the 2025 VNR cycle, it provided a platform for Arab countries presenting their VNR at the 2025 High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development to share updates on their preparations, strategies to address challenges, and the way forward.
The workshop also focused on youth and future generations a key chapter of the Pact for the Future and the subject of one of its annexes – the Declaration on Future Generations.
