As part of the series of capacity-building workshops for national policymakers, ESCWA, in partnership with the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development in Morocco, organized two consecutive workshops from 19 to 21 May.
The workshops aimed to support the development of policies that advance the integration of micro-, small-, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) into the circular economy. The sessions also provided a platform for exchanging experiences and discussing practical policy tools, financing mechanisms, and institutional approaches that can help accelerate the transition towards circular economy models.
In Morocco, efforts in this field are already progressing through several national initiatives. The Ministry has launched the development of a national circular economy roadmap. In addition, dedicated national programmes are strengthening support for MSMEs, thereby fostering an enabling environment for scaling up circular economy practices.
