ESCWA is hosting capacity-building workshops for national policymakers in Lebanon, Morocco and Oman focusing on advancing the integration of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) into the circular economy. The workshops gather public-sector decision-makers, ecosystem actors, and institutions supporting the private sector.
The program provides essential knowledge and practical tools to help participants design and implement policies, guidelines, and strategies that foster circular practices among SMEs, while promoting dialogue and coordination between public and private stakeholders.
Workshop topics include:
- Foundations of the circular economy for policymakers
- Policy instruments and regulatory frameworks for circular practices
- Guidelines for SME integration into circular value chains and business models
- Cross-ministry coordination and ecosystem development
- Roadmap development, target setting, performance indicators, and funding mechanisms.
