National artificial intelligence (AI) strategies provide a roadmap to adopt AI by setting clear priorities, establishing effective governance, and ensuring safeguards are aligned with national development goals.
On 22 January, ESCWA and the Ministry of Digital Economy and Innovation (MDENI) in Djibouti organized a consultative workshop to discuss the current draft of the national AI strategy in preparation of its official adoption.
The workshop brought together representatives of public institutions involved in developing and implementing digital projects and initiatives. Participants discussed the proposed national strategy with the aim of enriching and updating it. The workshop also highlighted the impact of AI and presented selected examples of national AI strategies.
