As part of the project to develop tools to assess trade policies and global economic shocks in member States, ESCWA in partnership with the Ministry of Trade and Industry in Egypt, organized from 6 to 8 May, a workshop in Cairo to launch the beta version of the Global Economy-wide Trade Simulator interface (GETSI) developed specifically for Egypt.
During the workshop, ministry officials received hands-on training, conducted trial simulations, and discussed future collaboration and refinements to ensure the simulator fully supports evidence-based trade policy-making in Egypt.
Similarly, ESCWA, in partnership with the Ministry of Economy in Oman, held from 22 to 24 April a technical workshop to train national policymakers on using trade policy simulation interfaces, including GETSI, to assess trade policy impacts.
